WHO WE ARE
At HydroC2M, we integrate advanced statistical techniques, machine learning, and satellite observations to solve complex challenges in water systems and agriculture.
We are a distinguished research group from the Land and Water Resources Engineering (LWRE) section, within the Agricultural and Food Engineering (AgFE) Department at **IIT Kharagpur**.
Our group combines cutting-edge technology with physical models to address pressing global issues in hydrology, irrigation, and environmental sustainability, maintaining the highest standards of scientific academic excellence at India's foremost engineering institute.
Investigating long-term climate variability and extreme events such as droughts, floods, and heatwaves using statistical and AI-based techniques. The objective is to quantify impacts on water systems and agriculture.
Leveraging satellite observations and GIS tools to monitor land, water, and crop dynamics. This enables spatially explicit analysis of hydrological processes, evapotranspiration, and environmental change.
Integrating machine learning with physical models to enhance prediction of hydrological variables, crop yield, and climate extremes. Hybrid frameworks improve accuracy and scalability for complex environmental systems.
Optimizing irrigation strategies and reservoir operations for efficient water allocation. This includes system design, performance evaluation, and sustainable management under competing demands.
Assessing land use, soil-water interactions, and conservation practices to improve watershed resilience. The focus is on sustainable resource management and adaptation to environmental change.
Providing scientific evidence for water policy formulation and transboundary agreements. Our research supports decision-makers in ensuring sustainable water security across regional and global scales.
